  Thinking about getting a ceramic coating on my Tiguan – is it worth it?

  I’ve been going back and forth on this for weeks and I just can’t seem to make up my mind, so I’m hoping some of you who’ve actually been through this can give me some honest advice before I make a decision. I’ve got a 2020 Tiguan in that gorgeous deep blue colour that looks absolutely stunning when it’s clean, but honestly it seems to attract dust and dirt like nothing I’ve ever owned before and I’m spending way too much time at the car wash just trying to keep it looking presentable. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about ceramic coatings and how they make the car so much easier to clean and keep looking good for longer, but I’ve also seen some pretty mixed opinions online with some people saying it’s a game-changer and others saying it’s overhyped and not worth the money. I’m not someone who’s going to spend hours every weekend washing and waxing my car – I just don’t have the time or the patience – so the idea of something that reduces the maintenance is really appealing to me. A mate of mine had his Golf done recently and he absolutely raves about it, says the water just beads off and the dirt doesn’t stick the way it used to, but I’m still not completely convinced it’s going to be worth the investment on a daily family car that’s going to get used and abused anyway. Any honest feedback from people who’ve actually had it done would be massively helpful because I’m genuinely torn and I don’t want to waste money on something that isn’t going to deliver the results I’m hoping for. The car is still fairly new and I want to keep it looking good for as long as possible, but I also don’t want to throw money at something that’s not going to make a real difference in the long run.
