I’m honestly a bit frustrated right now because I just had the battery replaced on my Octavia about fourteen months ago, and now it’s already showing the same warning signs of struggling to start that led me to replace it in the first place, does anyone know if this timeframe is unusually short for a battery to fail, or is fourteen months actually within a normal range depending on various factors like usage patterns and local conditions, because I genuinely expected this to last several years based on what the previous shop told me when I had it done, I don’t remember getting any specific warranty information at the time, which in hindsight I probably should have kept better track of, does anyone know if it’s reasonable to go back to wherever did the original replacement and ask about this given how short a lifespan this turned out to have, or is that kind of pushback typically not worth pursuing unless you have solid documentation proving the timeline and original warranty terms, while trying to figure out where to go this time I found information about Skoda battery change in Industrial Area 10 handled by a professional shop which seems like a good alternative if I decide not to return to the original place, has anyone experienced a battery failing this quickly after replacement, and if so did you find out it was actually a defective unit, or was it more about general wear factors that just happened to result in a shorter than average lifespan this particular time, I don’t want to keep cycling through short lived batteries if there’s something else going on that’s causing premature failure repeatedly, so if anyone’s dealt with this same frustrating pattern of unexpectedly quick battery failure, I’d appreciate hearing what you eventually figured out was causing it.
