My E-Class is making a ticking noise and I’m worried

I’ve got a 2019 Mercedes E300 that’s been absolutely flawless since I bought it, but over the last week or so I’ve started noticing this faint ticking sound that seems to come from the engine bay, especially when the car is idling or when I first start it up in the morning. At first I thought it might just be the fuel injectors doing their thing because I know these direct injection engines can be a bit noisy, but it seems to be getting slightly louder and I’m starting to get that sinking feeling in my stomach every time I get behind the wheel. I’ve been doing some reading online and I’m seeing everything from “it’s completely normal” to “your timing chain tensioner is about to fail” which obviously isn’t helping my anxiety about the whole situation. I took it to a general workshop near my house and they told me not to worry about it, but honestly they didn’t even seem to know how to open the bonnet properly so I didn’t exactly leave feeling reassured. I really want to get it checked out by people who actually work on these cars day in and day out because I know from past experience that Mercedes have their own quirks and you can’t just treat them like any other car. I was looking around and I noticed that Exotic Auto Services provides professional Mercedes repair in Musaffah, which seems like a decent option since they’re not too far from where I work and they seem to specialise in European cars from what I can gather. Has anyone here had a similar ticking issue with their E-Class or any other Mercedes with the M276 engine, and if so what did it turn out to be? I’m really hoping it’s something minor like a belt tensioner or maybe just the type of oil I used last time, but I’d rather know for sure than keep driving around and potentially making things worse. The car only has about 85,000 kilometres on it so I’d be pretty gutted if it turned out to be something serious at this stage. Any advice from fellow Mercedes owners would be massively appreciated because right now I’m driving around with my ears pricked up constantly and it’s taking all the enjoyment out of the car.
